Movie Review: “Fate of the Furious”

The Fast and Furious series of movies continues.  This one is probably the more complicated and interesting version of them all.  Of course, Vin Diesel stars with his family and adds Dwayne Johnson and Jason Stathan.  In addition, Charlize Theron plays the psychopath, Cipher and does a fine job of it.

You may have seen the ads where Dom (Vin Diesel) turns against his family. He’s under the influence of Cipher who holds a hammer over his head and forces him to do what she wants.  What she wants is to gain control of some nukes so she can teach the superpowers a lesson whenever they get out of line.  In order to do this, she attempts to steal a Russian nuclear submarine.

This is where some of the story becomes a bit unrealistic.  The cars they use are not especially suited for cold, but they work perfectly.  In addition, they wear the same clothes they wore when they were in New York City.  Sorry, but NYC isn’t as cold as where the submarine was located. Anyway, there’s quite a spectacular car chase on the frozen ice.

There’s plenty of action and good fun as the team goes out to save the world and return Dom to the family.   Have fun.
